Mortal Thoughts

Cynthia Kellogg (Demi Moore) is interrogated by Detective John Woods and Linda Nealon about the murder of her husband, Artie, a violent and abusive drug addict. The film is told in narrative flashbacks set in a police interrogation. Cynthia recounts her employment as a hairdresser at her friend Joyce's hair salon in Bayonne, New Jersey, where Joyce's husband, Jimmy, is a brutal and abusive partner. Cynthia's testimony reveals the events leading up to Jimmy's murder, including his attempted rape and physical abuse of her, and her subsequent self-defense against him.
