John Pankow is an American film and stage actor born on April 28, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri. He began his career on-stage, appearing in numerous Off-Broadway and Broadway plays before transitioning to film and television, including a starring role in William Friedkin's To Live and Die in L.A. (1985). Pankow also had a notable supporting role as Ira Buchman on the sitcom Mad About You (1993-1999).
