Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story

Ben Crane (Kurt Russell), a horse trainer, neglects his precocious daughter Cale (Dakota Fanning) while focusing on his work. Determined to make good on a promise, Cale convinces her father to take her to work, where she befriends a severely injured racehorse named Soñador. Ben saves the horse and adopts her, deciding to breed her despite the vet's initial diagnosis that she's infertile. With Cale's help, Ben decides to race Soñador, nicknamed Sonya, and with the help of a wealthy sponsor, they win the Breeders' Cup Classic.
