Nirgendwo in Afrika

In 1938, the Redlich family flees to Kenya from Leobschütz in Silesia, Nazi Germany, to escape persecution. Jettel Redlich (Juliane Köhler) struggles to adjust to life in Africa, but her daughter Regina (Lea Kurka) quickly adapts and forms a close friendship with the farm's cook, Owuor (Sidede Onyulo). As war breaks out, Jettel's marriage to Walter (Merab Ninidze) deteriorates, and she begins an affair with a German-speaking British soldier. Eventually, Jettel reconciles with Walter, and they have a child together, leading to a difficult decision about their future in Africa or returning to Germany.
