Summerland

Alice Lamb, a reclusive writer, is forced to take in a young boy, Frank, who has been evacuated from London during the Battle of Britain. As she begins to accept Frank's presence, she recalls her relationship with Vera, a fellow student at university who wanted to be a mother and broke Alice's heart. Alice and Frank form a bond, but their lives are disrupted when Frank's father is killed in battle, leading to a heart-wrenching revelation about Vera's role in Frank's life. As Alice tries to come to terms with her past and her feelings for Frank, they find comfort and love in each other.
