Hilary and Jackie

In 1960s London, Derek and Iris du Pré support their daughters, Hilary and Jackie, in pursuing music professionally. Hilary, a flautist, struggles in her musical studies at the Royal Academy of Music, while Jackie, a cellist, becomes a virtuoso in early adulthood. Jackie's meteoric rise to fame is contrasted with Hilary's relationship with her husband Christopher "Kiffer" Finzi, and her alleged affair with him. As Jackie struggles with multiple sclerosis, the film showcases the complex and often fraught relationship between the two sisters, ultimately culminating in Jackie's death at the age of 42.
