Hoshikuzu kyôdai no densetsu

In this 1985 Japanese musical comedy film, punk rock rebel Kan Takagi (Kan Takagi) and new-wave crooner Shingo Kubota (Shingo Kubota) are scouted by music producer Kiyohiko Ozaki (Kiyohiko Ozaki) and transformed into the synth-pop duo, Stardust Brothers. Alongside their number one fan and president of their fan club, Marimo (Kyôko Togawa), the duo rises to stardom, but their fame is short-lived as they become reckless and hedonistic, leading to their downfall. Eventually, Kan and Shingo find themselves performing without the company's influence, with the help of Marimo, but ultimately meet a tragic end.
