Guys and Dolls

In the 1955 musical film "Guys and Dolls," a gambler named Nathan Detroit (Frank Sinatra) makes a bet with a fellow gambler, Sky Masterson (Marlon Brando), that he can't take a girl of Nathan's choosing to dinner in Havana, Cuba. Nathan chooses a Salvation Army missionary, Sarah Brown (Jean Simmons), and Sky pretends to be a repentant gambler to meet her. As they spend time together in Cuba, Sky and Sarah begin to fall in love, but Sky still has to make good on his arrangement with Sarah to provide sinners to the Mission. Meanwhile, Nathan's fiancée, Miss Adelaide (Vivian Blaine), wants him to go straight and get married, but Nathan's plans are complicated by the police, led by Lieutenant Brannigan, who are trying to shut down his craps game.
