49th Parallel

In the early days of World War II, a German U-boat crew, led by Lieutenant Hirth, attempts to escape into the United States, which has not yet entered the war. Along the way, they encounter brave men such as Philip Armstrong Scott (Leslie Howard), a French-Canadian fur trapper, Johnnie (Laurence Olivier), a leader of a Hutterite farming community, Andy Brock (Raymond Massey), and Peter (Anton Walbrook), as they try to evade capture and make their way back to the Fatherland.
