Trial by Jury

In "Trial by Jury," (1994) Joanne Whalley plays Valerie Alston, a single mother who becomes a juror in the trial of mob boss Rusty Pirone. As the jury deliberates, Valerie is threatened and blackmailed by Rusty's henchman, Tommy Vesey, who believes she can be swayed to vote for Pirone's acquittal. When the jury hangs, Valerie's son is killed, and she must use her wits to escape Rusty's henchmen and ultimately take down the mob boss herself.
