Armand Assante is a versatile American actor born on October 4, 1949, in New York City, to Italian and Irish descent parents. He has had notable roles as mobster John Gotti in the HBO film Gotti, Nietzsche in When Nietzsche Wept, and Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer in I, the Jury. Assante has been nominated for multiple awards, including two Primetime Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
