On the Beach

In "On the Beach", Cmdr. Dwight Towers (Armand Assante) is tasked by Australia's Royal Australian Navy to investigate a mysterious automated digital broadcast coming from Alaska, which could potentially hold clues about the survival of humanity after a devastating nuclear war that has ravaged most of the world. As Towers journeys to Alaska and later San Francisco, he grapples with the reality of his crew's impending doom and ultimately makes a choice that will haunt him and those he loves.
