Mr. Deeds

In this remake of the 1936 Frank Capra film, Adam Sandler stars as Longfellow Deeds, a small-town pizzeria owner and poet who inherits $40 billion from his deceased uncle, Preston Blake. With his newfound wealth, Deeds finds himself besieged by opportunists in New York City, including a cunning television tabloid reporter named Babe Bennett (Winona Ryder), who poses as an innocent small-town girl to gather information on him. As Deeds navigates the corrupt world of high finance, he must confront his own kindness and generosity, ultimately finding love and redemption in the unlikeliest of places.
