In this 1961 American comedy film, starring Glenn Ford and Bette Davis, director Frank Capra weaves a tale of deception, transformation, and the power of luck. Based on Robert Riskin's screenplay for the 1933 film Lady for a Day, which was inspired by Damon Runyon's short story "Madame La Gimp", Pocketful of Miracles follows Dave, a New York City gangster with an unshakeable superstition about apples, as he sets out to turn street peddler Apple Annie into a society lady.
