Project X

A young inductee into the military is assigned to care for chimpanzees used in a top-secret Air Force project called "Project X". He soon discovers that the chimps have been taught sign language and begin to suspect there's more to the secret project than he's being told, particularly when he learns they'll be exposed to lethal radiation if they can't operate a flight simulator. The inductee, Jimmy Garrett (Matthew Broderick), teams up with Teri Macdonald (Helen Hunt), who raised one of the chimps, Virgil, and taught him sign language before her research grant was cut off. As the project's dark secrets are revealed, Jimmy and Teri join forces to stop the experiment and help the chimpanzees escape.
