Pumping Iron

The film follows amateur and professional bodybuilders preparing for the 1975 Mr. Olympia and Mr. Universe contests as five-time champion Arnold Schwarzenegger defends his title against Serge Nubret and Lou Ferrigno. The documentary features segments on bodybuilders Mike Katz, Franco Columbu, and Ken Waller, in addition to appearances by Ed Corney and other famous bodybuilders of the era. Shot during the 100 days leading up to the competitions and during the events themselves, the filmmakers faced production issues but were ultimately aided by Schwarzenegger and other featured bodybuilders in completing the film.
