Red Dog

In 1971, a man named Thomas drives his truck into Dampier, Western Australia late one night, bringing a statue of William Dampier to the town. There, he witnesses a group of men trying to euthanize a dog they claim is sick. The dog, Red Dog, befriends many miners who tell stories about him, but there's no real master - just a bus driver named John Grant, who becomes Red's companion. John and his girlfriend Nancy live in Dampier for two years, with Red by their side. But tragedy strikes when John is killed in an accident on his motorcycle. After the funeral, Nancy and others forget about Red Dog, but he continues to search for John. As time passes, Red Dog becomes a symbol of the town's resilience and community spirit.
