Blizzard of Souls, or The Rifleman, is a 2019 Latvian historical drama film directed by Dzintars Dreibergs, set during World War I. The film follows the story of 16-year-old Artūrs, played by Oto Brantevics, who enlists in the Latvian Riflemen battalions in hopes of finding glory and revenge, but instead faces brutal and painful realities of war. As Artūrs loses his father and brother, he becomes disillusioned and eventually returns home to fight in the Latvian War of Independence, finding strength to start everything from scratch.
