Vimal stars as Arivazhagan, an irresponsible youngster who locks horns with one of his relatives in a rural election. He is joined by Oviya Helen as Maheshwari, a character with a familial connection to Arivazhagan. The film also stars RJ Vigneshkanth and Saranya Ponvannan in supporting roles, and is a standalone sequel to the 2010 film Kalavani, directed and produced by A. Sarkunam, which became a surprise success and launched the careers of its stars.
