Paul de Marseul, a renowned wine-maker and owner of a prestigious chateau and vineyard in Saint-Emilion, is disheartened by the prospect of his son Martin taking over the family business. When Philippe, the son of his manager, appears at the vineyard, Paul names him as his successor, much to Martin's dismay. Niels Arestrup plays the demanding patriarch Paul de Marseul, opposite Lorànt Deutsch as Martin, who is overlooked as a potential successor.
