A defense attorney, Kate Moore (A.J. Cook), begins to suspect that her client, Talan Gwynek (Brian Scott O'Connor), who is charged with the murders of a vacationing family, might be more than meets the eye. As the investigation unfolds, Kate's team discovers that Talan suffers from a rare genetic condition, porphyria, which could be linked to his alleged werewolf-like behavior.
