Mister Roberts

Henry Fonda plays Lt. (j.g.) Doug Roberts, a Navy executive officer who's yearning for battle but is stuck on a non-commissioned ship run by the bullying Captain Morton, James Cagney. The film follows Roberts' struggles to maintain morale and dignity on the Reluctant, a cargo ship operating in the Pacific Ocean far from enemy action.
