The Future

Miranda July stars as Sophie, a children's dance instructor, in this drama about a couple who adopt a cat that radically changes their perspective on life. After a vet's office mishap, the couple quits their jobs and embarks on a life of freedom, but their newfound happiness is disrupted when Sophie's past mistakes come back to haunt her. Jason (Hamish Linklater) freezes time to stop Sophie from confessing her infidelity, but the world moves forward, leaving them to confront the reality of their stagnant lives.
