Ye yan

The film is a 2006 wuxia drama directed by Feng Xiaogang, starring Zhang Ziyi, Ge You, Daniel Wu, and Zhou Xun. It is a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet set in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period in 10th century China. The story follows Crown Prince Wu Luan, played by Daniel Wu, who is deeply in love with Little Wan, but is instead married to his father, the emperor, who is later murdered by his brother, Li, and Wu Luan's life is put in danger. The film explores themes of love, betrayal, and revenge as Wu Luan seeks to avenge his father's death and claim the throne, with the help of Empress Wan, played by Zhang Ziyi.
