Rembrandt

The film "Rembrandt" (1936) is a character study of the 17th-century Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn at the height of his fame. After his wife Saskia's death, Rembrandt's work takes a dark turn, offending many of his patrons. The film follows Rembrandt's journey as he struggles with debt, loss, and the demands of his clients, ultimately finding solace in his relationship with his new model and lover, Hendrickje Stoffels, played by Elsa Lanchester.
