In 1938, Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon sets out to rescue Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany, while simultaneously dealing with a relapse of tuberculosis. The film follows the story of how Quezon and his team, including military adviser Dwight D. Eisenhower, attempt to bring German and Austrian Jews to safety in the Philippines, despite facing challenges from anti-Semitic officials and limited visas. Through Quezon's courageous efforts, over 1,200 Jewish refugees were saved, a testament to his compassion and leadership during one of humanity's darkest hours.
