In 1950s rural South Africa, a Robin-Hoodesque figure emerges in the form of John Kepe, an outlaw who steals from the wealthy white settlers to give to the impoverished indigenous population, earning him both notoriety and admiration among those marginalized by colonial displacement. A mammoth manhunt ensues, led by hardliner General Botha, as the government seeks to capture Kepe and crush his movement.
