The 317th Platoon

In 1954, during the First Indochina War, the 317th Platoon, consisting of four French soldiers and 41 Laotian combatants led by inexperienced Second-Lieutenant Torrens, is ordered to leave its outpost and retreat to the plains of Diên Biên Phu. Led by Adjutant Willsdorf, a WWII veteran of the Werhmacht, they must navigate 150 kilometers of jungle, facing hostile terrain, rainwater, and Viêt-minh ambushes. As the group faces constant danger, Sergeant Roudier is mortally wounded, and eventually, Torrens dies, leaving Willsdorf to take refuge with mountain tribes.
