Sweet Charity

Taxi dancer Charity Hope Valentine (Shirley MacLaine) continues to have faith in the human race despite her disappointing life experiences. She hopes to meet a nice young man who will romance her away from her sleazy job at the Fandango Ballroom dance hall. When she meets Oscar Lindquist (John McMartin), a shy and claustrophobic businessman, Charity lets him think she works in a bank rather than telling him about her dancing career. As their relationship blossoms, Charity's hopes are lifted, celebrated in the huge production number "I'm a Brass Band".
