Sleepers

In 1967, four childhood friends from Hell's Kitchen are sentenced to juvenile detention after accidentally causing a disturbance and being repeatedly subjected to brutal sexual abuse and torture by corrupt guards at Wilkinson Home for Boys in Upstate New York. Thirteen years later, their lives intersect again when John and Tommy, now career criminals, confront one of their abusers, leading to a revenge tragedy that unfolds into a courtroom drama. With the help of an unlikely ally, Michael, they hatch a plan to expose the truth and bring justice to the perpetrators of their abuse. The film is based on Lorenzo Carcaterra's novel of the same name and stars Kevin Bacon, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, and Jason Patric in a powerful and disturbing portrayal of trauma, revenge, and redemption.
