Biography
Vittorio Gassman was a renowned Italian actor, director, and screenwriter considered one of the greatest actors in Italy. He achieved mature successes with Luchino Visconti's company, starring in productions like Un tram che si chiama desiderio (A Streetcar Named Desire) and Peer Gynt. He later transitioned to Hollywood, scoring roles alongside Elizabeth Taylor and Shelley Winters before returning to Italy and the theatre. Gassman died in 2000 at the age of 77.
