La terrazza

On a terrace in Rome, eight Italian politicians from the communist party gather for a get-together, discussing their past, present, and future. The film focuses on the days following one of these encounters, told in five different episodes from five different points of view, featuring Marcello Mastroianni as Luigi, a pleasure-seeking journalist, and Stefania Sandrelli as Giovanna, his wife. The cast also includes Vittorio Gassman as Mario, a deputy of the Italian Communist Party, facing an existential crisis.
