Ugo Tognazzi was an Italian actor, director, and screenwriter born in Cremona, northern Italy, who spent his youth traveling with his father's insurance company. He made his cinematic debut in The Cadets of Gascony (1950) before forming a successful comedy duo with Raimondo Vianello on RAI TV. Tognazzi became a renowned character in Italian comedy, starring in notable films like La Grande Bouffe and Barbarella (1968), for which he played the iconic role of Mark Hand, the Catchman.
