The Ape Woman

In 1964 Italian-French satirical drama "The Ape Woman", entrepreneur Antonio Focaccia (Ugo Tognazzi) discovers Maria, a woman covered in hair, and marries her after she refuses to sell her virginity to a professor. The couple is celebrated in Paris, but their happiness is short-lived as Maria becomes pregnant and dies during childbirth, while the child also passes away shortly after birth. After an emotional court battle with his wife's convent, Antonio buys the bodies back from the museum and exhibits them in his own show, satirizing the exploitation of freak shows like Julia Pastrana's real-life story.
