Tempest

"Tempest" (1982) is a loose modern-day adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest, directed by Paul Mazursky. John Cassavetes stars as Phillip Dimitrius, a middle-aged architect going through a mid-life crisis, who flees to a remote Greek island with his teenage daughter Miranda (Molly Ringwald). There, they encounter eccentric hermit Kalibanos (Raúl Juliá) and Aretha Tomalin (Susan Sarandon), a singer who becomes Phillip's lover.
