Raúl Juliá

Biography

Raúl Juliá was a Puerto Rican actor who gained interest in acting while still in school and pursued it after completing his studies. He moved to New York City with encouragement from Orson Bean, performing in mobile projects like the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre before being noticed by Joseph Papp. Juliá's notable roles include Gomez Addams in The Addams Family film adaptations and Chico Mendes in The Burning Season, for which he won a posthumous Golden Globe Award.
