The Organization

Sidney Poitier stars as San Francisco Police Lieutenant Virgil Tibbs in this 1971 crime thriller, who is called upon to assist a group of young revolutionaries after they break into a corporate headquarters and steal $5 million worth of heroin to keep it off the streets. As Tibbs investigates, he finds himself entangled in a complex web of urban revolutionaries, drug dealers, and corruption. With Barbara McNair as his wife Valerie Tibbs and Gerald S. O'Loughlin as Jack Pecora, one of the executives whose murder sets off the investigation.
