Jamie Kelly (Emily Alyn Lind) navigates Mackerel Middle School as she faces challenges from nemesis Angeline and her rivalries with classmates. With the help of best friend Isabella and a budding romance with Hudson Rivers, Jamie learns valuable lessons about friendship and inner beauty. The film follows Jamie's adventures in her seventh-grade year, including a Jump-A-Thon competition that ultimately helps save the school's art program.
