A documentary about Peter Gatien, the king of 1980s and 1990s New York City nightlife, reveals a complex story behind the glittering facade of legendary nightclubs like Limelight, The Tunnel, and Palladium. Through interviews with key figures in Gatien's life, including himself and notorious clubgoer Michael Alig, this film explores the meteoric rise and fall of a nightlife empire built on excess and extravagance. As the city's nightlife scene faced increasing pressure from authorities, Gatien was deported to Canada, bringing an end to his reign at the top.
