Peyton Place

In the small New England town of Peyton Place, shopkeeper Constance "Connie" MacKenzie (Lana Turner) tries to make up for a past indiscretion by adopting a chaste attitude towards all things sexual, while her illegitimate daughter Allison (Diane Varsi) falls deeply in love with Norman Page. Meanwhile, handsome new teacher Michael Rossi (Lee Philips) develops a romantic relationship with Connie, who helps him win over the school's veteran teacher, Elsie Thornton. The town's residents are hiding secrets and scandals, including Lucas Cross's (Lloyd Nolan) rape of his daughter Selena, which leads to a violent confrontation that changes the lives of everyone in the community forever.
