The New Daughter

Recently divorced novelist John James moves into an old house in rural South Carolina with his teenage daughter, Louisa, and young son, Sam. The house is locally infamous for the disappearance of Sarah Wayne, a woman who lived there. On their first night in the house, Louisa hears strange noises from a humanoid creature lurking outside on the roof. As John tries to protect his family, he discovers that the house is surrounded by an Indian burial mound and that a malevolent presence is growing stronger by the day. John's attempts to research the history of the mound lead him to Professor Evan White, who warns him about the dangers of the burial mounds. Meanwhile, Louisa begins to change, exhibiting strange behavior and displaying signs of possession by the malevolent force. As John struggles to understand what is happening to his daughter, he must also confront the dark secrets of the house and the true nature of the mound-walkers who are hunting them. As the situation escalates, John's family is attacked by the creatures, leading him to take desperate measures to save them. In a final confrontation, John discovers that Louisa has become one of the mound-walkers, and he must fight to save her from herself.
