Down and Out in Beverly Hills

In this 1986 comedy film, a rich but dysfunctional Beverly Hills couple, Dave and Barbara Whiteman, find their lives altered by the arrival of a vagrant who attempts to drown himself in their swimming pool. The family's staleness and materialism are disrupted when they save Jerry Baskin, a down-and-out homeless man with colorful tales of his past life, offering him a chance at redemption. As Jerry befriends Dave's family, he brings liberation and insight into the couple's stale marriage, and even seduces Barbara, reawakening her sex drive. But as the Whitemans' lives become more chaotic, their newfound freedom may prove to be too much to handle.
