The Chorus

In 1949, Clément Mathieu arrives at Fond de l'Étang boarding school for troubled boys to work as a supervisor and music teacher. He discovers the boys being ruthlessly punished by strict headmaster Rachin and attempts to use humor and kindness to win them over. When a student named Le Querrec injures the school's elderly caretaker, Mathieu keeps his identity hidden and encourages him to nurse Maxence during his recovery. Mathieu forms a plan to teach the boys to sing and form a choir as a form of discipline, but their progress is threatened by a cruel boy named Mondain who arrives at the school and begins causing trouble.
