Christy returns to her hometown in Montana years after a car accident that disfigured her older sister, Vanessa. Haunted by the accident, she learns that her worst nightmares have either come true or are about to, as she experiences blackouts and strange visions of a scarred, burnt woman clawing at a lid. As Christy investigates the death of her sister, she befriends a cop, Jeff, who helps her uncover dark secrets about Vanessa's treatment and the Lockes' family dynamics, ultimately leading her to discover that her sister was alive in the basement, buried alive, and seeking revenge against those who wronged her.
