In the gripping 1965 war film "King Rat", American POW Corporal King thrives in a Japanese prison camp through his cunning and black market enterprises, while others struggle to survive. Forming an unlikely friendship with upper-class British officer Flight Lieutenant Peter Marlowe, King recruits him as a translator and nurses him back to health after an injury. As the two men navigate their complicated bond, they must also contend with the corrupt prison authorities and the threat of liberation by a lone paratrooper.
