Starship Troopers

In a future where Earth is governed by an authoritarian regime, humanity finds itself at war with a highly evolved insectoid species dubbed "Arachnids" or, derisively, "bugs". The Mobile Infantry, including teenage jock Johnny Rico, conducts colonization missions throughout the galaxy, bringing them into conflict with the Arachnids. As Rico's military career progresses from recruit to non-commissioned officer and finally to officer, he must confront the harsh realities of war and the true nature of the conflict, amidst a backdrop of satire and social commentary that critiques fascism and authoritarian governance.
