Footlight Parade

The film "Footlight Parade" is about Chester Kent, a fledgling producer who faces pressure from his business partners and his greedy ex-wife to create large numbers of marketable musical prologues for movie theaters. He locks himself in the office with his staff to choreograph three spectacular prologues, including "Honeymoon Hotel," "By a Waterfall" featuring Ruby Keeler as Bea Thorn, and "Shanghai Lil" showcasing her dancing alongside James Cagney. As Kent navigates this high-pressure situation, his secretary Nan Prescott tries to protect him while she secretly harbors feelings for him.
