Sunshine Follows Rain

In nineteenth century Sweden, a wealthy farmer's daughter, Marit (Mai Zetterling), engaged to be married to Mats, begins a romance with Jon (Alf Kjellin), a penniless folk musician. The youth between the two is enchanted by Jon's violin playing. As the wedding plans progress, Jon becomes a significant figure in Marit's life, threatening her arranged marriage and family expectations.
