Mai Zetterling
Biography
Mai Elisabeth Zetterling was a Swedish actress and film director born in Västerås on May 24, 1925. Her breakthrough as an actress came with her title role in Basil Dearden's Frieda (1947), which led to success in the UK and a return to Sweden, where she worked with Ingmar Bergman again. She later transitioned to directing, making notable films such as Älskande par (1964) and The Girls (1970).
