"A Run for Your Money" follows two Welsh coal-mining brothers, David "Dai Number 9" Jones (Donald Houston) and Thomas 'Twm' Jones (Meredith Edwards), as they visit London to claim a monetary prize. They are launched into an adventure with some London riff-raff, led by con artist Jo (Moira Lister), who is pursued by Whimple (Alec Guinness), a gardening columnist on the newspaper that sponsored the trip.
